Project Summary

As a Project Assistant, I played a key role in the university’s initiative to reduce and consolidate cloud-based service subscriptions. I worked directly with senior leadership, including the Vice President of Finance and CFO, the CIO, CTO, and Director of Technology, to assess how academic and administrative departments were using paid digital platforms.

My responsibilities included conducting usage audits, interviewing department stakeholders, and identifying platforms that were either redundant, underutilized, or misaligned with actual needs. I compiled the data into an actionable analysis report that compared platform usage, cost-per-user metrics, and overlapping functions.

My recommendations were presented to executive leadership and used as the foundation for decision-making on which services to retire or renegotiate. The university ultimately moved forward with a strategic reduction plan, guided directly by the insights I gathered and presented.

Learning & Development Outcome

This project gave me an inside look at how technology, finance, and operations intersect in decision-making. Working with C-level leadership taught me how to translate technical usage data into business cases, and how to align IT resources with long-term institutional goals. I learned the importance of strategic communication and trust when guiding change at scale.
